How to be a professional gossip with Bronwyn Beairsto (or How to do an interview)

Member Price: $15

Non-Member Price is $25

Youth Price: free - please contact us at wordworks@bcwriters.ca for the registration code.

In this 1.5 hour interactive online workshop, Bronwyn will provide an introduction to interviewing techniques: How to set up an interview, what equipment and apps you will need, how to deal with pre-interview jitters, what kinds of questions to ask and what do you do with the interview afterward?

This workshop is for anyone who wants to include factual information in their writing process. Youth writing mentorship participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in a private 30 minute post-event Q & A.

Bronwyn Beairsto is editor of the Coast Reporter, the lower Sunshine Coast's newspaper of record, based out of Sechelt, in the shíshálh Nation swiya. Before moving to the Coast, Bronwyn cut her teeth in journalism as a one-woman newsroom on Nex̱wlélex̱m / Bowen Island for three years. She holds a master of journalism from Carleton University, though her first academic loves were anthropology and folklore. Small-town living comes naturally to Bronwyn – she was born and raised in the Yukon, and as such, can indeed recite the entire Cremation of Sam McGee by heart.
